WASHINGTON – Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (�౦��Ϸ����) Acting Chairman Martin J. Gruenberg issued the following statement on the passing of John W. Ryan, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS).

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, senior leadership and the entire staff of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, I want to express our profound sense of loss at the passing of John Ryan, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors. For more than a decade, John led the CSBS with skill and vision. He was a close friend and trusted partner in our shared mission to ensure the safety and soundness of the banking system.  We extend our deepest condolences to the CSBS workforce, to members of the State Bank regulatory community, and to the family and friends of John at this very difficult time.”
